Embracing personal vulnerability is required if you wish to work, play and succeed in the future.

About This Quote

Personal vulnerability is a core human trait that is a part of the human condition. The truth of this statement is so evident, it would be hard to deny it. As children we are taught to hide our problems from others. We are not supposed to speak about them, let alone admit they exist.

In the adult world, we work very hard to keep our emotions in check. And, when we finally let out a howl of pain, we try desperately to catch it back up in a box and lock it away before anyone can see. This is never an effective way to live.

When you hide your true self from the rest of the world, you become a shell of a person with no real identity or sense of self worth. You become a stranger to yourself at best and an object for ridicule at worst.
